Wood inlay round tray

For Mastellone Giuseppe, wood is both material and medium. Working from his Sant'Agnello workshop near Sorrento, he transforms fine veneers into intricate compositions that blur the line between craftsmanship and art. At first glance, this tray appears painted; on closer inspection, it reveals itself as a mosaic of individually cut pieces, assembled entirely by hand. The result is a striking object rich in color and heritage—one that carries forward more than 150 years of Sorrentine inlay tradition.
