Rubia floor cushion

Made to match our rug of the same name, the Rubia Floor Cushion is handwoven with a soumak tapestry technique. This is a flat weave involving tightly wrapping weft (horizontal) threads around the warp (vertical) threads for an incredibly strong and thick finish. The fabric is washed for an antique effect and bobbles formed in the weaving process are individually sheared for a smoother finish, then sewn on all sides to form a pouf, which is filled and beaten to take its shape. This artisanal process will result in each piece having individual characteristics that add to its charm.
