Nastro hand-cast bronze candle holder

An elegant manifestation of the ancient lost-wax casting process, Osanna Visconti's Nastro candle holder begins life as a wax sculpture, which is cast and then melted away to be replaced by molten bronze. Working from her Milan atelier, she kneads and shapes everything by hand in whimsical ribbon twists.
