Leopard and agate marquetry wood box

Marquetry is Silvia Furmanovich’s calling card, transforming salvaged wood gathered from the Amazon rainforest floor into miniature worlds of extraordinary intricacy. Fallen branches and bark are cut into fine veneers, then pieced together by hand to depict leopards, pumas and birds among peonies, lotus flowers, pineapples and Japanese maple leaves.
