The first furniture piece the studio ever made, the model for Chair I was first made to fit precisely into our original small kiln of our first studio, albeit by unbuilding and rebuilding the entire kiln around it for every firing, disconnecting the lid and adding six inches of bricks to the top before gingerly placing the lid back on.
