Alicia handwoven iraca palm beaded-edge placemats (set of 4)

The Alicia range is a meeting of minds and methods – it falls under the Sandoná collection, which is named after the mountainous town in southern Colombia. While the base of these placemats is made from natural iraca palm in a Panama weave by talented weavers in Nariño, the beaded border is handcrafted by indigenous women of the Emberá tribe from Risaralda. The inspiration for this beautiful detail, known as the Chaquira weave, stems from a necklace the founder bought on a Colombian street market.
